Accra, Ghana — On January 13, 2025, the Office of the President formally announced the revocation of Edward Nana Yaw Koranteng’s appointment as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Minerals Income and Investment Fund (MIIF). The decision, effective immediately, was made by His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, President of the Republic of Ghana.
In a letter addressed to Mr. Koranteng, Callistus Mahama, Secretary to the President, directed the former CEO to hand over his duties to the President’s representative at the Ministry of Finance, Hon. Dr. Cassiel Ato Baah Forson. Dr. Forson will oversee the operations of the Fund until a new CEO is appointed.
The President expressed his gratitude to Mr. Koranteng for his service to the nation during his tenure at the helm of the MIIF, a key entity responsible for managing the country’s mineral wealth.
The Ministry of Finance has been entrusted with the interim oversight, ensuring the continuity and effective functioning of the Fund in line with its critical role in the nation’s economic development.
The revocation of Mr. Koranteng’s appointment follows a broader realignment within various state-owned institutions as part of the government’s ongoing commitment to strengthening financial governance and management in Ghana.
