Ahiafor and Asiamah Elected as Deputy Speakers of Ghana’s 9th Parliament

Hon. Bernard Ahiafor of Akatsi South and Hon. Andrew Amoako Asiamah of Fomena have been elected as First and Second Deputy Speakers, respectively, for Ghana’s 9th Parliament. Their leadership is expected to bolster parliamentary proceedings and foster bipartisan collaboration.

In a historic session of Ghana’s 9th Parliament, Hon. Bernard Ahiafor, Member of Parliament for Akatsi South, was duly elected as the First Deputy Speaker, while Hon. Andrew Amoako Asiamah, MP for Fomena Constituency, secured the position of Second Deputy Speaker.

This leadership lineup solidifies the parliamentary framework for the next legislative term, with the new Deputy Speakers now tasked with supporting Speaker Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin in steering parliamentary affairs.
