Samuel Awuku, the Director-General of the National Lottery Authority (NLA), has officially resigned from his position, effective January 13, 2025. In a formal letter addressed to President John Dramani Mahama, Mr. Awuku cited his recent election and swearing-in as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Akuapem North Constituency as the reason for his resignation, stating his intention to fully dedicate himself to serving his constituents.

Transition from NLA to Parliament

Mr. Awuku was appointed as Director-General of the NLA in August 2021 and confirmed by the Public Services Commission in July 2022. Over his tenure, he has overseen significant reforms and initiatives aimed at improving the operations of the authority. In his resignation letter, he expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve in the role and requested that a replacement be appointed to ensure a smooth transition of leadership at the NLA.
